The Arts Council

Our Arts Council was set up in September 2016 and was initially formed to help the school achieve the prestigious ‘Silver Artsmark' Award.

We received Silver Artsmark in October 2017 and are now working towards our Gold Award. We also achieved Music Ambassador Status in November 2017.

Our Arts Council representatives are a group of children who have demonstrated a passion or a talent for Art and Performing Arts and have become the subject Champions. These are joined by members of staff who have a love for the arts, and together became the Bewsey Arts Council.

The Arts Council meet twice a term and arrange for events such as the Flute groups visit to the Philharmonic Orchestra. Previously they also organized non uniform days where children brought in art materials. These were then distributed into classes as wet play art boxes.

Each year they also have responsibility for organising our 'Bewsey's Got Talent' show which gives the council the chance to organise their own event from posters to encourage participation to tickets sales and hosting the event.

This year we are planning to organise even more arts experiences for the children to both watch and participate in.

Earlier this year our champions, along with our more able and talented musicians, went on a trip to see 'Mary Poppins' at Penketh High School. It was lovely to see some of our past pupils performing.

Look at the beautiful art work from our spring flowers competition and the lyrics for our song writing competition. A massive well done to everyone who took part.
