Creative Learning Art Sports and Performance
'Teaching offers pupils many exciting opportunities to develop their thinking and the ability to work successfully in a team.' Ofsted, 2014.
The children in our school love CLASP sessions which take place either Thursday or Friday each week in Key Stage 2.
Each class is split in half so the groups are always nice and small. The children learn new skills in more depth each half half term.
Sessions include: Art, Cooking, Drama, Sewing/textiles, Commando Joe's, Forest School, Swimming, Flute Lessons, Sport and St. Johns First Aid.
Click on the subheadings on the right to find out more about each session.
Teachers and children alike love these enrichment sessions for many reasons:
*They build self esteem and confidence;
*Small groups mean that children have more adult time and guidance in developing their skills;
*It gives the opportunity to study courses beyond the requirements of the national curriculum;
*They promote enquiry based learning, exploration and resilience.
