This was our first Geography specific field trip which included a mix of children from y3-y6 and it was a great trip!
We stayed at the centre overnight and got involved in some great activities! We walked to the Blue John Mine and found out how it got it's name. We also learnt lots about natural structures and how Stalactites grow down and Stalagmites go up - did you know it takes around 600 years for them to grow 1 cm?
We did lots of walking and found out about the local area. We also found out about the types of rock in the Peak district and also why the Romans were so interested in the area! We toured the village using a map and visited a brilliant local sweet shop!
In the evening we panned for hidden gems, played board games, made candles and had time to chill.
It was a brilliant experience!
