During this CLASP subject, we learn all about the culture of Spain. We look at three key areas of Spanish culture, Art, Festivals and Food. Having a Spanish native speaker deliver these lessons provides authenticity to these sessions.
In studying other cultures, we learn more about ourselves and our relationship to all things in this world.

Learning a foreign langauge, and the culture that goes with it, is one of the most useful things we can do to broaden the empathy and imaginative sympathy and cultural outlook of children.

During the 2 weeks of Spanish art, we look at famous Spanish artists such as Picasso, Dali, Gaudi and Sorolla. They explore the lives of these artists and recreate some of these works of art.
In the festivals section of this CLASP subject, we explore the festivals that are celebrated across Spain and recreate some of the key symbols of these festivals.
During this exciting part of the subject we get to do some food tasting of different Spanish food products and then cook our own Spanish food such as Gazpacho or Tortilla de patatas.
