Exercise and being healthy has become a key focus due to the pandemic. Our National Child Measure Programme 2020 has highlighted that 22% of our Reception children were overweight or obese, as well as 51% of children in Year 6 also being overweight or obese. Alongside this data and the need for children to develop their social skills, small groups of our Year 2 children attend Fun2Be once a week during CLASP in order to develop their physical, social and emotional skills.
Mrs Williams will be taking small groups of children to the play centre to help them develop their personal and social skills through interactions with their friends in an engaging and fun environment. They will also be increasing stamina in exercise and motivation through their developing play in the children’s play area, which promotes a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness.
