Emerald and Topaz visit to the Lakes!

On Friday 15th September, both Emerald and Topaz visited the Lake District as part of their geography based topic, 'What's over the hills?"

The day started with the sun shining and the children travelling by coach to Harverthwaite train station, where they boarded a Steam locomotive, which travelled on a preserved railway line all the way to Lake Windermere.

Once they arrived at the bottom of Lake Windermere, the children hopped on to a ferry and sailed to the Lake of Bowness. Many different tourists, who came from all over the world, commented on the excellent behaviour of our children during the excursion.

The children took in the beautiful sights Bowness had to offer whilst talking a short walk to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. As soon as the children arrived, they were set different challenges and puzzles to solve based on Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit, developing their knowledge surrounding the subject.

Overall, both the staff and children had a brilliant day learning outside the classroom. The children's behaviour was excellent throughout the day. Well done Class Emerald and Topaz. Please feel free to view the slideshow of pictures from the trip below.
