World Book Day 2019
What a fantastic and comfortable World Book Day we had this year! The staff and children came in to school wearing pyjamas. The theme this year was 'Share a Story' at the end of the day the whole school stopped their normal jobs to share stories. We had a big 'bed time story' in the whole with cushions and blankets- we listened to David Walliam's book 'The Ice Monster'. Older children in the school shared stories with younger classes too! Emerald class read stories to year 1 and Amethyst class wrote their own children's stories to read to Nursery.
We also held a 'Get Caught Sharing a Story' competition. For the past few weeks, children have been sending in fantastic (and sometimes hilarious) pictures of them sharing stories in unusual ways. Well done to Amy from year 3 who won by reading a story to a skeleton!
Thank you to everyone who made World Book Day so special- we can't wait till next years!
