Our Curriculum
Skills for life!
Our cooking unit is based upon the Key Stage 2 Design and Technology program of study.
The children investigate, evaluate and design various foods and recipes and are encouraged to be as independent as possible in making meals for themselves.There is a requirement that the children make predominantly savoury dishes and have a good understanding of the food groups, healthy options, convenience cooking and seasonal foods.
As with all CLASP subjects, the groups are small so there's lots of teacher time.

Gold Class CLASP Cooking
As you would expect, CLASP is mirrored in our Key Stage 2 Designated Provision and each half term they undertake projects similar to those in our mainstream classes.
In these photos children are making scones for an afternoon tea and chopping apples for apple crumble.
